We’re All In This Together

baby-votingToday is Election Day and it’s for that reason that we’re not going to make this a long post about the minutae of parenting or comparing which of the boy’s bodily gasses sound like which one of the Oak Ridge Boys.

Instead, I’m just going to remind you to vote, and to ask you to vote responsibly.

Later today we’re all going to go vote together as a family. Obviously, Jack will not be pulling any levers, but it’s still significant to us that he be with us for this election as it will have an impact not just on his future, but on the future of our country.

This is a time when Jack will witness us vote for progress, not regression. We will vote for our faith in the best America represents and not cast a vote founded in fear, hate, and ignorance.

And when we’re done voting, we’re going to get tacos. (Actually, I might get a chimichanga, but you get the idea.)

I could go on a rant here. Oh, how I could go on a rant. But I’m not. I may have comments later on my johnteehan.com website where I blog about things other than Jack. (Sorry, boy. I live a rich and full life which you have made richer and fuller, but I do write about other things as well.)

So just go out and vote. Think of what your vote represents. Remember that you’re vote counts not just for your life, but the lives of others as well.

red-green-show-stillIn the words of that wise Canadian Red Green:

“Remember, I’m pulling for ya! We’re all in this together.”

Cheers!
